I know what’s up.
The SAT is not about how much you know. It’s about how well you think.
Most SAT preparation courses or books make the fundamental mistake of treating the SAT as a math, vocabulary, grammar and reading comprehension test. My approach is totally different. I teach you how to out-think The Man to find correct answers through reasoning techniques.
The math portion of the SAT asks algebra and basic geometry questions. The actual math used is not difficult, but subtle twists the Man puts in deliberately cloak basic concepts so that you won’t recognize them. Why does he do this? He wants to see how well you can think on your feet.
The verbal section works the same way, only there are a lot more places for the tricks to hide. There might be twists in the question, in the solutions, or in the reading passages. The Man stops at nothing to make sure you’re on your game from start to finish.
I teach you everything you need to tackle the test, from the proper techniques to The Man’s dirtiest tricks (and how to work around them.)
I put it all together.
Pick up an average book on the SAT. What you’ll see is a short list of test taking tactics, a section on math, and a section on verbal followed by sample tests with corresponding answer keys. Everything divided into neat little sections. This is a completely old-fashioned method of study. What good is a list of test taking tactics if you don’t know what you’re up against? That’s like teaching football strategy to a kid who’s never been on the field. Knowing the answer to a question doesn’t necessarily make you a better test taker. Knowing how to balance testing strategies with math and language arts skills does. I give in-depth explanations of how to combine test-taking tactics with math and verbal skills in order to teach you the fastest and most accurate way to solve problems. I make the connection that the other preparation courses miss.
I go straight to the source
Sometimes the best way to get info on someone is to spy, right? Likewise, the best way to learn the ins and outs of a test is to use the sample tests of the test makers themselves. All study guides try to mimic the SAT, but they fall short. Nobody replicates the subtle twists of the SAT and the proper distribution of subjects covered like I do.
The Man (otherwise known as ETS) publishes a sample book of questions for the SAT. I go straight to this source so that I know what’s going to be on the test. I teach you how to solve the questions the test makers themselves suggest. My guide teaches you what The Man doesn’t. Why? Because it’s in his best interest to shield you from knowledge that a tactical approach towards their test can significantly boost your score.
Due to copyright reasons, I can’t reprint ETS’ original questions, so I suggest purchasing The Official SAT Study Guide as a companion guide to my solution set.
With every package, you get both a solution set to a sample test from the ETS guide and my own sample test of SAT questions and solutions.
My sample tests are created by taking each sample question provided by ETS and creating a corresponding question that is similar. A lot of times, you may not get something on the first try. That’s why I give you a second question: to increase your understanding of the topic on hand.
It’s cheaper and better than private tutors or courses.
An average SAT course will cost you around $800. The average SAT instructor is not trained. If you’re lucky, they will show you only a trick or two that they may have stumbled onto. I’ve spent years researching and testing these standardized test-taking tactics. This is an opportunity for you to get the advantage only offered to those willing to pay over a thousand dollars for private tutoring with a proven elite private SAT tutor—but for a whole lot less.
